ETN Chili Cook Off

Welcome to ETN Chili Cook Off! We hope to get your support to help us fight hunger.

ETN Chili Cook Off runs food programs in all the counties of Nevada. We started as a small program operating behind a garage door in Las Vegas. Now we are operating the largest hunger relief program in the State. With our food bank, we save millions of pounds of food from going to the landfill and redirect it to the people who need it most. Our food is distributed to various soup kitchens, schools, food pantries and more. The good thing about our program is that you can always be assured that our food are always fresh.

We run the following programs

Summer Food for Kids

Every summer, we work with public schools and community partners in providing healthy, easy-to-prepare food for the most vulnerable children in the community, the children who come from low-income backgrounds and may be missing meals. We work with teachers in identifying these children and ask them to help us in connecting with the parents to allow the kids to participate in this program.

However, we know that child hunger does not only start and end during the summer months. As such, we also have a Food for Kids program that run throughout the year.

Food for Kids

The Food for Kids program is geared for children from poor families and communities who may be at risk of hunger. They are our main priority. We work with teachers and school personnel in identifying these kids within our service areas. The school is very helpful in the discreet distribution of food backpacks or bags full of food that we give away every Friday. The goal is to give each vulnerable kid food that will last him or her and any other sibling for a week, to ensure that no one goes hungry. We have noticed that through this program, children are given a boost in terms of their self-esteem and behavior throughout the school year.

Other Food Programs

Aside from providing kids with food, we also work to give food provisions to elders in the community who are also vulnerable to hunger. We have notices that some seniors are usually faced with the choice of either buying medicine or food or even to pay the rent. To relive their worry, we have taken on the Elders Food Program to provide them with the basic necessities for a week.

We also have a food rescue program in which we work with food manufacturers, distributors, groceries, restaurants, among others to wither gather or buy perishable food at a discount and save it from going to waste and to landfills. The U.S. is the leading source of food waste and it is our goal to change that and redirect the food to the members of the community who need it most. We have food banks and refrigerated trucks to ensure the freshness of these food. We also conduct regular inspection to ensure that whatever food we bring and deliver to our foodbanks are of optimum freshness.
